As someone with no formal teaching experience, I was nervous about starting out as an ESL teacher. However, throughout the course many of my concerns were addressed. I now feel ready to start a new career with a general idea of what to expect, and an understanding of how to perform my job. The material was straightforward, the assessments relevant, the assignments reinforced lesson objectives, and the feedback was generally very rapid.

This course was eye-opening, there is a lot of planning and organizing that goes into preparing a classroom in order for the students to learn a language and be as fluent as possible. It is important to plan ahead but also leave room for improvement whether or not you are a experienced teacher. Always take into consideration the needs of the students first and although it can be difficult teaching a language, as a teacher one must never give up.
