Participants develop classroom management techniques and learn how warmers, ice-breakers, context setting, theatre and music can be used to encourage participation and make language learning more interactive.

This module develops the skills required to structure purposeful and well-organised language lessons. Participants learn the principles of lesson planning, lesson staging, defining learning objectives and outcomes, applying Bloom’s Taxonomy, and sequencing and timing activities effectively.

This module focuses on effectively teaching the four core language skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing. Participants explore individual and integrated skill-development approaches and learn how grammar can be incorporated innovatively into language-skills lessons.

This module examines different approaches to teaching grammar in meaningful and communicative ways. Participants learn how to contextualise grammar, use inductive and deductive approaches, design communicative grammar activities and integrate grammar innovatively into language learning.

This module introduces the essential features of English pronunciation and phonology. Participants explore the English sound system and phonemes alongside word and sentence stress, rhythm and intonation, and learn how pronunciation activities can support clearer and more effective spoken communication.

This module explores how teachers can respond constructively to learner errors while maintaining confidence and encouraging improvement. Participants examine different types and sources of errors, corrective feedback techniques, appropriate timing of correction, and teacher, peer and self-correction approaches.

This module introduces contemporary approaches to language teaching with an emphasis on learner-centred practice. Participants explore collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking while considering how digital tools and technology-enhanced learning can support modern language classrooms.

This module prepares participants to deliver effective language learning in virtual environments. It introduces Virtual Online Language Training (VOLT) and covers online classroom management, strategies for engaging learners virtually, the use of digital activities and resources, and approaches to online assessment and feedback.

This practical module enables participants to apply their learning through teaching practice and observation. Participants gain experience teaching, observing peers, receiving trainer feedback and reflecting on their own classroom practice to identify strengths and areas for continued professional development.

This module introduces participants to the role of assessment and evaluation in language teaching and learning. It explores how teachers can assess learner progress and outcomes through different approaches, with particular emphasis on formative and summative assessment.
